That's what most people who buy this software will be using. Only a few knowledgable people will know how to use it in an UCI interface. This is also a good idea because in my opinion the CB GUI has too many bugs for it to operate properly, especially related to hash tables and tablebases. So this may partly test that problem too. Of course as you say, it would be great if they will test Shredder 8 in both the CB and UCI interfaces. I suspect that the full strength of this engine will only be available in the UCI interface. WP
