I think it is quite simple to do it. Yes, it is quite simple to use the UCI engine in various UCI interfaces. You and I can do it easily. But we are in the top 10% of knowledgable people in this special area, and not everyone reads this forum!? The Shredder 8 CD does not provide a UCI interface. Also the help and technical information provided on the CD makes no mention that a copy of the UCI engine was installed in a sub-folder of the Chessbase/Engines folder, so many people won't know that it is available. There have been several queries here on that subject. So I believe that 9 out of 10 people who buy the Shredder 8 CD will not be aware that a UCI engine exists, and most won't have a UCI interface available to try it. WP
