Hopefully you're aware that the UCI engine was installed in a subfolder of the Chessbase/Engines folder when you installed Shredder 8. They make no mention of it, however, so most people won't know that it exists - unless they happen to read this forum frequently. I can confirm that the Shredder 8 UCI engine works fine with the Classic Shredder 6 (UCI) interface, which came on the Shredder 7 CD -- better than with the CB GUI. For example: There are no bugs when resizing hash, or when using (Infinite) Analysis mode, like there are with the CB GUI. Also hash table size isn't limited arbitrarily, like in the CB GUI, so you can use your own best judgement. The CB GUI won't let me set the hash size over 784MB, but I can use 800MB or whatever I want to venture with the UCI interface (with 1GB installed RAM). WP
