It will take at least 7 days before various companies and interested arms of the government begin to send me grant money to support future research and reward me for the research I have just done in this Red Hot field of dedicated computer chess. So I couldn't afford to buy the Star Sapphire yet. However, I'm sure that soon I'll not only be able to afford the Star Sapphire (in fact, the difficult decision will be which grant will I use to buy it with), but I will be able to afford a fine, rare vintage wine to sip well. AFter all, everyone knows that it's actually the scientists in this country of the USA that get the obscene financial remuneration. Yes, scientists sipping champaign everywhere you look, and driving Porsches, and Yachting...... and soon that will be me. If you are using Regular duracells, than I suggest you will get 20 hours of life from the Duracell Ultras. If you use the Star Sapphire a lot, you can't go wrong with rechargeable batteries. I have the Rayovac system with the 2000mAmpHrs AA batteries. I think I may test these also (testing batteries in the red hot field of dedicated chess computers is very lucritive!). Anyway, these newer NiMH batteries are a huge improvement over the older NiCd types. No memory effects.
