We discussed the problem once (without solution). Yace PB Linux was compiled
with the Intel compiler (static linking), while the earlier Linux version was
compiled by Gcc (also static linking). Perhaps I can make available a Gcc
compiled version of newer Yace, and this might run.

Accidently today I wanted to install Freebsd (4.9). Unfortunately it hangs
during the boot process. Last message displayed was:

ata0: resetting devices ..

I couldn't be bothered to investigate the problem. Should I try Freebsd 5.2.1?
