Subject: new ChestUCI Ver.3.4

Hello Chest-friends,

my new version of ChestUCI is available.

Additionally to small corrections, changes and improvements
(listed in ´Version.txt´ - only in German), there´s one new
essential feature: a new problem type ´Auto-Special-Mate´,
which is an enhancement of the special-mate mode introduced
in the last versions.
With this new function ChestUCI is able to find the optimum
parameter values for such special mates by itself - eiter
full-automatic (i.e. for all 4 parameters) or half-automatic
(i.e. only for those parameters not explicitly adjusted).
(Please carefully read the detailed description of this new
option in the included file ´English.txt´!)

The full-automatic mode is thought for people, which are
not very familiar with those adjustable special parameters -
but of course in this mode finding the optimum solution
can take quite a while.
Chest experts will usually be much faster with the half-automatic
mode, if obvious parameters are pre-set to the correct values,
but for that a comprehension of the position (and sometimes also
a ´flair´) would ne necessary - two qualities, which unfortunately
I wasn´t yet able to implement into ChestUCI. :-(

So of course you shouldn´t expect any ´miracles´ from this new
function - an ´intelligent´ mode, which will solve any hard mate
problem within seconds, will come later ...
(about 2050 I guess, so a bit patience please ;-))

If you discover any problems with this new automatic-mode, or if
anyone has some good ideas to make this function more efficient,
I would be very grateful for such hints -
either via email or posting in a chess forum.

Best regards,
Franz.

PS. for Heiner Marxen:
Any progress with ´mate threats´ in Chest, Heiner? ;-)
