the engine which comes with the classic interface is teh so-called Shredder
Classic Engine :-) - this is a crippled Shredder 8 with reduced playing strength
100-150 points below Shredder 8. But (the real) Shredder 8 (the Chessbase one)
comes with the native version of Shredder 8 and the UCI-Version. The latter one
you can install in the classic GUI and now you have the Classic GUI with the
real Shredder 8. Of course you need to buy two products.

I find it unpleasant that on Shredderchess.com it is not emphasized that you
don't buy the Shredder 8 _engine_ as one would normally suspect but another
weaker engine. It's there but not emphasized hence the confusion.
