Hi,

the Shredder Classic Engine (there is NOTHING like a "Shredder 8 Classic" or any
8 in it!) is about 100 to 150 points weeker (I tend to the 150 side). The
advantage of this engine is the full support of the new extended UCI protokoll.
To see the main advantage of the "Shredder-Classic" engine load a position
(middlegame, no more book moves) and start the analyse mode. If not allready
switched on right click on the book window and switch on "automatic". You easily
see what the engine is thinking about all the possible moves. It is hard to
explain but easy to see.

In my opinion that the main focus is on the GUI and not the engine. If you want
the strongest Shredder-engine you have to use S8 from Chessbase.

As far as I know the english version of the Shredder Classic GUI will be
available soon. (of course NOTHING is for sure but ...)

Bye Ingo
