Go up one level in this thread

there are 3 current shredder engines, but none is named that (shredder8
classic)...
1. Shredder8 is the default shredder engine in the chessbase installation. You
have this running automatically.
2. ShredderUCI.exe is a version of shredder which can run in other non-native
GUIs. If you have installed the chessbase shredder then you have a UCI folder
located on your hard drive. Chose the gui you want to run this engine in, open
that gui and run the engine from it. you will see a black screen if you just try
to run the engine outside of a gui.
3. ShredderClassic is a version of shredder which comes with the classic GUI and
has special features for a newer form of UCI which makes it beginner friendly
and the gui is engine tester friendly. This gui-engine combination is a
downloadable purchase from www.shredderchess.de and is not available on the
chessbase distribution cd.

if your question means how to load uci shredder in the chessbase gui, then
please start shredder, then press function key F1 to open the help file and
learn how to load engines into the gui. the engine is located in folder
programs/chessbase/engines/uci on your default directory.

best regards,
marc
