That's why Rebel probably has the best record against humans of any engine to date. I've read that Crafty scores well against us too. There's many reasons for this. For example, in engine versus engine contests, it seems that search speed is the most important element. But this is far less important against humans, since even the slowest of the top 50-engines can compute far faster than any human. So increasing dominance in area where engines are already nearly totally dominant, really adds minimal value. So if I had to bet money on which engine would most likley defeat humans, my money is on Rebel. Stephen
