For some settings, the relationship is linear or even equivalent (selective
search or strength of play, for example). For many others, though, their values
are modified by the values of other settings (material/positional is one main
culprit here -- perhaps the only one, I can't remember).

The "try and find" way is probably not too difficult if very few settings were
changed from the default. But, as you guessed, sometimes it is possible to have
the Chessbase GUI send settings to The King that are simply not possible via the
CM GUI.
