That is really odd then. I have zero problems with mine regarding pasv issues.
Are you sure you were specifying the proper port ranges for pasv connections?

Would you be able to try something for me? Can you try the latest version of
GuildFTPd that came out about a month ago, and in the advanced options, specify
ports 1401 - 1500? I am sure everything will be fine then.
