Hi,

I have run some tests of Lightspeed v2.0 public beta 1, available from
www.clievideo.com, on my Palm Zire 71.

CPU speed was increased from 144 to 192 MHz, which makes it 1.33 times faster
Test postions were run in using standard configurations of programs.

The first program was Chess Genius 2.01, level 60 seconds per move, ponder off.
    Test postion 1: 1. Nh3
Lightspeed enabled: 38298 positions per second
                              disabled: 28724 positions per second
                                       Resulting speedup = 1.33

    Test postion 2: 1. Na3
Lightspeed enabled: 38016 positions per second
                              disabled: 28060 positions per second
                                       Resulting speedup = 1.35

The second tested program was Chess Tiger 15.2, level 60 sec/move, ponder off.

    Test postion 1: 1. Nh3
Lightspeed enabled: 486 positions per second
                              disabled: 356 positions per second
                                       Resulting speedup = 1.36

    Tiger's speed index:
                    Lightspeed enabled: 1.25
                              disabled: 0.88
                                       Resulting speedup = 1.42

Conclusion: Speedup of ChessGenius is propotional to speedup of CPU, but
Chess Tiger seems to be gaining a bit more.
