There seems to be a lack of publicly available chess tools that can just be
"used out of the box". So I am starting the OOCHIE project -->
"Object Oriented Chess Helper Instruction Engine"
I have started on a crude move generator. I used (with permission) the 0x88
move generator from Vanilla Chess 2.5 by Shaun Press.
I plan to eventually add bitboard move generation, various search features, etc.
Here is the current project file:
ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/chess-engines/new-approach/movegen.zip
It is in a very primitive state right now {read:'It's a pure hack --> I just
slapped the C stuff into a C++ class and tidied a few small things.'}. If
anyone wants to help, have at it.
