There is *no* big gap between Chess Tiger and the top chess programs. There is a
gap indeed between the #1, Shredder, and Chess Tiger. I admit that and only
that.

The way I have organized my work in the last 2 years and a half has worked
against me I believe. By the end of 2001 I had decided to separate my office
from my home. So instead of working at home I have been renting an office
several kilometers away.

That's a case of bad good idea I think. :)

The result is that instead of working 24 hours a day (or almost :) on improving
the engine as I did before, I have been working on it only 4 to 8 hours a day.
Also, the test computers are at the office. So when a long test ends in the
middle of the night I have to wait for the next day to read the result and start
another test. When my office was at home I would simply wake up in the middle of
the night, read the result and start the next test.

I have got the lesson of this and already acted accordingly. Next month I move.
I drop the office and my current home. I have found a detached house with 2
floors. My office will be upstairs, with a nice view on the caribbean sea. I'm
going to gather all my hardware together, connect all the computers to a single
network, and FINALLY get an ADSL Internet connection (I cannot get one
currenly!!). And then, I swear that Chess Tiger is going to get a serious boost.

Stay tuned. I'm pretty sure that in a few months the results will be there.
Probably before the end of the year.
