I have the SciSys (aka Kasparov / Saitek) Turbo 16K, which was the predecessor
from 1985. AFAIK the Turbo S-24K had a larger openings library and was only
sligthly higher rated. Unfortunately I do not find these anymore on the current
SSDF list. Chess computer collector K.Kispert gives a rating of 1416 (1316 after
the adjustment) for a "Saitek Turbo - Single Chip" which is most probably one of
these two models. The 6502 turbos were something else; the 16K and 24K run with
6301Y so called single chip cpus.

Once I managed a "speculative" win against the Turbo 16K. Nowadays, it wouldn't
make much sense to continue after mistakes like 12.f4? or 16.exd6? But against
these comps, you still had a chance. The rook sac 17.Rxg7+, with #8, was correct
though. I don't claim I saw the mate yet when I played that! :-) But then, I
spotted 20.Nd5 and Black cannot defend the mate.

17.Rxg7+! That was my "once in a lifetime" 15 plies combination (easy for chess
programs today).
