Yes, that was one of the other conditions I wanted to try.  But it is not
more, but *less* restrictive than the one used in the version which won my
tournament.  If you re-read my post, you will see that Gothmog A used
eval() - value_of(MyBiggestHangingPiece) >= beta, which obviously implies
eval() >= beta.
