This is the wrong math. The question is not if you can make living from 1000 nerds but how much money do you expect to earn from additional 1000 buyers and how much work do you need to do for that money. If you can by some days of work to get additional 1000 customers then I see no reason for you not to do it. The fact that most of the customers will not use it under winboard is irrelevant. Some commercial programs like chessmaster or Sjeng or Ruffian can play under winboard. Uri
