I seem to be getting a similar issue.

I've had a few games where my engine has
been pretty far down in non-pawn material.

but it's wiped out most of the enemy pawns and
has a string of 3-4 passed and connected pawns.

It thinks its ahead by a good margin.

been trying to think of a way to change the evaluation
to not give so much weight to that long line of passed pawns
perhaps only giving bonuses for up to two passed pawns.

or maybe i'm just valuing them too much to start with.

passed + connected on rank 6-7 + 100
plus piece/position value of 40
plus material 100
= 240 for a passed/connected pawn on rank 6/7

if anyone else has had this issue, how have you approached it?

Eric
