Subject: Question about generating Nalimov TB's

Hi

I thought I might put my old PC to use calculating the 3-4-5 Piece Nalimov
Tablebases. I have started it off running a while ago, but just realised there
might be a problem.
When I get to calculate 5 Piece KPPKP for example would that need all of the
minor tables to be on disk at once ?
I was thinking I could calculate a bunch of 50 or so at a time, then compress
them to the *.emd format and then delete the uncompressed originals. Can the
generator program cope with the minor tables in compressed format ?
I suspect not, but that means I would need a huge amount of disk space to be
able to calculate KPPKP. Any clarification of this would be appreciated. Thanks

Incidentally this Tbgen program makes a wonderful torture tester for your hard
drive, hope my disk even survives till I get to the pawn tables !!

 Regards Geoff
