But there are "6-foot tall players" and "6-foot tall players".  I played
high-school basketball, and in 1963 somewhere into the state-championship cycle
we played a team with a 5' 2" midget.  He was pretty quick but nothing special.
Until we saw him dunk the ball during warm-up.  And when he blocked a shot by
our 6' 6" center that went on to start at Mississippi State University two years
later.

I have also seen 6' 4" players that could barely touch the rim, no hope of a
dunk...
