Every program should play better with ponder on than with ponder off. I mean,
if the engine is allowed to think while the opponent considers its next move, it
should play stronger than without pondering. Do you have more details about this
bug? i'm surprised that ruffian with ponder on not only can't play stronger than
with ponder off, but it can play weaker!
