The winning side should minimize loosing kings (taxi) distance to edge or corner. It should next minimize the distance between winning and losing king and finally maximize the distance between losing king and rook and probably minimize the distance between queen and losing king as well. Nullmove and Zugzwang handling are interesting features here too. What about allowing nullmove with R=0 for the stronger side, at least if rook is protected by losing king near the edge? Gerd
