Compete in a tournament that supports FIDE ratings and play at least 4 games
against FIDE rated players. You need a total of 9 games (can be all at once or
in groups of at least 4 games) against FIDE rated players, and must have a
performance of at least 1800 I believe. The minimum rating has dropped, and I
think you only need to be rated 1800 to get in now. I'd look up your national
federation, and find out when such tournaments are scheduled.
