George, Thanks for sending me your games (from a while back) against Gothic Vortex. I figured out why your attack with the pieces creeping up the board to assault the castled king were successful. Some of the attack code looked for Rook/Queens encroaching the file of the king under attack, but there was no Chancellor bitmap being tested for in the code! So, Chancellors were given a "free pass" to attack the king! I have cured this in the latest version of the program. I spent a good deal of time on the king safety module, and continue to add knowledge to this aspect of its IQ. Thanks for the games. P.S. The opening book now has 10,500 positions.
