Go up one level in this thread

But the moderation process is more art than science and it involves humans on our side that have limited resource (principally time) and we generally act more on the official complaint mechanism (email) than somebody perhaps posting - "hey look at this, they are violating the rules". On the hand, If I come to the board and see "I need (name your program) access codes" or "you are a #$(*)#_@ bum" - I don't need for anyone to file a complaint as I will be the one that is complaining. I did see the Bob/Vince thread(s) getting long and I could tell it was a "Bob/Vince" thing going on. But I was not reading every post - in fact just a few. I did notice one thread that had the "fraud" heading. But during the whole stretch - the moderators did NOT receive one single complaint via e-mail regarding the threads or threads and we still have not. We have received complaints about other posts during that time - but not one single member complained about Bob/Vince thread through the official communication channel that is set up for members to voice their complaints. And we do have members that will not hestitate to voice their opinion about an objectionable thread or post - commercial post, trading engines, using bad language , off topic posts or threads or even Vince. Moderating is also a little bit like buying stock. You ever buy a stock and it starts going down. You don't want to sell it and lock in your "loss" - but everyday it keeps going down and your paper loss is getting bigger and bigger. Finally it goes down so far and you can't take it anymore and you sell at the bottom and your paper loss becomes your real loss. That's how I felt when I watching the Bob/Vince thread. I felt that if I posted "Moderation" late inthe process - everybody could look at me and say - "well where were you 4 days ago when it started - it's over now - and you SOLD low ". So here's to CCC bouncing back up in the next few days. Best, Michael
