I tested chessmaster6000 and chessmaster6000 with selective search=10 in the
following position:

8/1n6/r3k3/P4p1p/R2Rp1p1/6P1/2rB1PP1/4K3 w - - 0 1

I gave chessmaster6000 Junior5's move against chessmaster6000:
56.Rab4
and asked chessmaster6000 for the best move
The target is to avoid 56...Nxa5(chessmaster6000 failed in achieving this target
in the game against Junior5)

The default personality(selective search=6) finds 56...Nxa5 after 106 minutes
when the selective search=10 finds it after only 18 minutes.

I used pentium200MMX with windows95 and 64 MBytes hash tables for
chessmaster6000
