The recent suggestions of Marc and yourself (about saving RAM for the decompression indices) I found more interesting, although I don't even see a problem there. Many purists will not like to overcommit some RAM - I don't care too much, myself. After all we have virtual memory for a good reason. Since quite a long time, there is no source for the tbgen, datacomp, ... on Bob's ftp anymore. I mainly miss probe.txt, which was inside the same package. Do you think of making it available again? At the moment, when I want to change to a newer version of your probing code, I always feel a bit unsecure. Did anything significant in the calling procedure change? I use diff, to compare with older versions. But a newer probe.txt (if necessary) would really be nice. Regards, Dieter
