I believe the P4 was a commercial move. The idea was to have the highest GHz
figures, because that's the only thing most people look at. They did not care
about computing speed, they only cared about the biggest GHz.

The Pentium-M (based on improved P3 cores IIRC) is better... Comparable to the
Athlon in speed/MHz, and with good power management.

Now we are going to have a good laugh at Intel trying to explain to their
customers that their 1.7GHz P-M is faster than then 2.4GHz P4!

Are they going to use the same naming scheme as AMD? Are we going to see a
Pentium 2500+?
