How about concluding that the Capablanca sacrifice was sound because White wasn't busted afterwards? A sacrifice need not "create problems for his opponent" to be sound. Any particular opponent might be very good, and have no problem handling the resulting position -- that wouldn't make the sacrifice unsound. Dave Gomboc
