Yes I have all the games that were played that night, here i post them for
anybody who wants to take a look at this interesting fight.
Well, I'm not much surprised by the fact that Shredder 8 won but I'm more
surprised because GM Shirov was unable to win a single game out of 13 that were
played! Well, I expected the computer to win from the beginning since playing
blitz is a great disadvantage for the human player, but since GM Alexey Shirov
is a top 10 player and excellent blitzer i doubted that Shredder 8 could win so
convincingly.
Not more than 2 years ago, many computer chess fans would have said that
Shredder was not a very good chess program for playing fast games, but nowadays
I believe it is one of the best, even better than Fritz, usually stronger at
this short time controls. Nevertheless, my favorite program is still Junior :)
I don't know what hardware was used, but i think Dreamland works with a single
processor (2-3 Ghz).
