Quad Opteron is 4 x 2200 MHZ=8800 MHZ, and 4 meg+ on die cache. Why only 485 kns? Am I reading this wrong? I believe Deep Fritz was 3435 KNS on Quad at first move. I assume this is just speed program you wrote and not your Diep chess program. if Yes then it would seem you could have written program to measure kns closer to your Diep chess program.
