Go up one level in this thread

I have to agree. What I like about CM6000 is the personalities. I enjoy playing
a game or using the tutorials. I still use CM5500 for opening tutorials. I enjoy
the Waitzkin games. But the fun stops here.

Otherwise, I find Chessmaster to be a royal pain in the rear end. I still use my
DOS based Socrates for game or position analysis. I prefer Socrates because I
can

1) Quickly set a level.
2) Easily toggle between move entry mode and having it think.
3) It spits out an analysis file without giving me grief.
4) It flips the board only when I specifically ask it to - not every time I have
it switch sides to think.

If any Chessmaster programmers are out there, I'd sure like to help beta test
your next version. I have a *lot* of complaints about the latest incarnations!

The data base is horrible. In fact, I usually end up wanting to shove my CM6000
CD's down someone's throat if I do anything besides play a game. It takes too
long to change settings. I find Chessmaster to be user-unfriendly.

I also don't need all the chess sets and boards. They've crammed all this stuff
in there, and I use a basic B&W 2-d display.

Who is KK and where is this thread you're referring to?
