I thought they were only offering $300 assistance, which was woefully inadequate. For instance, I just checked the air fare for a round trip ticket from Dallas to Tel Aviv, departing on July 3rd and returning on July 13th, and it ranges from $1300 - $4800. If I was only given $300 in assistance, I would have spent at least $1000 out of my own pocket (which I don't have) and I'd still be sleeping on the street and fasting for 10 days.
