i'm a novice in Computer chess and chess in general. however, i understand 1 thing. there is no organizaton which regularly do a test of most recent engines. maybe if the engine makers could publish their own test games, one could then conclude that those results are more accurate because you are almost sure a company with money will use latest top notch hardware. so either we do our own tests or rely on those who do it for free and provide the results. (thanks goes to Tony and other guys on Internet). btw, when there seems to be no standard organization for the chess itself, whouldn't be good to have a standard organization for Computer Chess? it's year 2004! just my opinion, kave PS. btw, we always have the "eh.. whooo cares..?" factor too.
