A private American citizen suing a Dutch citizen in a Dutch court. Hmmm. I wonder how many American lawyers specialize in this sort of thing. You realize you 2 have an incredibly long history of bickering on the internet, don't you? I wonder how patient the Dutch courts will be with all that, especially when you consider it is all within an English speaking forum and not a Dutch speaking forum. What sort of damages will you be suing for? What monetary value would you fix on it? How often are you prepared to fly over there? Do you speak Dutch by any chance? I can't figure out how all this makes any sense. I would assume that generally only corporations and millionaires are willing to undertake such a thing that has an international dimension. To make this work, I would think you would have to talk the university into doing this rather than doing it on your own. The only sense in it I can see is that your post is intended to scare VD along with everybody else. It will be amusing to see how all this plays out. Good luck!
