I'll replace the hard drive and get the latest Windows. Can I do as my buddy suggested and simply mount the new HD next to my old one (saving having to back all my data up)? Will the new Windows really over-ride Windows 98? What caused my HD to die in less than 3-years when it was 70% unused? I've read that frequent power failures and improperly shutting off the computer can hurt HD's. But that wasn't the case with me. All the best, Stephen
