A few days ago, I played a four-game match between CM5000 (which has the same engine as CM5500) and CM6000. CM won the match 3 1/2 to 1/2. Both programs were using their default settings and running simultaneously on my K6-2 350. If you're looking for something stronger than CM5500, you'll have to look elsewhere. Perhaps adjusting the settings will improve CM6000, but right now I have no evidence that it's stronger than CM4000 (!) If you're looking for a good database and some other nice features, CM6000 is worth the $19.95 upgrade price I paid. But the features that would make CM6000 more than a toy are still absent, namely: a user book and analysis in player-player mode.
