Just take the CCT it had over 50 entries and the ICGA championship had, what, 16? They do have an online event, our danish super GM Peter Heine Nielsen once qualified for the FIDE WM through such a tournament. I'm not into the details here, I think they competed for some wildcarts to WM, winner gets expenses paid by FIDE (I think). -S.
