I think the whole null-move idea during search was developed after it was firstly tried in the qsearch (correct me if I'm wrong), but although I know a bit about normal null-move, I don't know how good does it work in qsearch. In some positions during qsearch capturing might be a bad idea, so the stand-pat score is used instead, meaning that any other non-capture move will be tried here (a sort of "pass"), and the qsearch doesn't go any further. The problem with this is maybe that the oponent doesn't have any problems making a capture in the next ply. Of course, the qsearch is there just to avoid very simple tactical blindness and it's far from being accurate, so we cannot pretent to cover all possibilities by extending it withough getting an explosion (maybe the exception is the CM). I'd just like to know if any of you uses the null-move in qsearch, allowing the oponent to try a capture as well as trying all the ones available for one side. Is it worth? Reagards, Jaime
