Uri If you choose to not bouild your own, here is a PC I think would make a good Chess PC for you. I just bought this PC and so far it is working ok. The cooling is very quiet. Chess programs are running very good with this so far. The 9800 video card is more than I need---but I wanted to run some bench tests with video. Th hard drive is larger than what I need but it is working ok. XP pro is not necessary but I wanted this. I got the extra 3 year warranty for about $100. I got as many PCI cards as they offered without running integrated. Network card is integrated---works ok. the 1 GIG of ram seems ok for me. I got this cheaper because HP offers Kimberly-Clark employee discount. I already had good monitor and speakers. If you go to HP and build your own with same processor and memory----you can lower this price. After I got mine I cleaned it up. No icons in tray. No pop ups. No AOL. No auto updates. only chess icons on deaktop. no programs in msconfig. ETC...
