Hi Sune,

you are simply not junkie enough ;-)
I got fixed on during my short commercial career.
But the geographical circumstances were rather well for me of course.

Paderborn 95, staying on a camping place with my survival pack (October).
Happily sold a few exclusive IsiChess copies after last round.

Jakarta 96, well sponsored by the ICCA and the local university.
Day Ichi Hotel like a palace, opening ceremony with ministers, free, excellent
food near the university playing hall, few meters away from the slums, personal
hosts etc., a kind of strange.

Paris 97, i disenchanted from my commercial career and already had my current
job, was probably the most expensive championship iirc.

Paderborn 99 a must of course (120 km Paderborn, 250 km Leiden).
Camping place again, summertime. Last time with Dos IsiChess.

Maastricht 2001 with my buggy brand new program was also not so far away
(180km). I got older, cushier and had not to count every penny - no more
camping.

Same for 2002, Maastricht again.

I missed London 2000 and Graz 2003.
Three other over the board tournies are not enough for me.
With some tension i'll look foreward to Ramat-Gan to meet
some very nice guys there.

Cheers,
Gerd
