$2400+ sounds a little high www.xicomputers.com has a dual opteron (240) base price of $1,549. I think the AMD Opteron 140 is down to $193 now less than the AMD-64's Best thing is to look at some prebuilt's componentwise then shop around for parts and build your own. 3 year warranties aren't really worth it anymore. Also consider that dual core opterons will be available in mid-late 2005, maybe earlier if Intel get's really desparate and forces the issue. Supposedly pin compatible with single processors. Not sure which pin they mean. Probably the 939 pin ones that are about to be released.
