Subject: ICC (Mis)adventures

Djinn just had one of those "interesting" encounters on ICC that
occasionally happen. It lost to a 1600 player at a TC of "10 3".
Always, interesting and maybe something more. The next game
with the same player was a draw and the final game initially
was going against Djinn but it eventually turned the tide in a
2-Rook vs. Queen, opposite side castling free-for-all and
cashed in the full point. After this the 1600 player decided to
move on to greener pastures.

Now I'm not accusing anyone of anything (anyone can have
a great day), but if it's something more (nefarious), well, what really
bothers me about these "encounters" is that I never get to find
out which version of Crafty, Yace, Shredder, Hiarcs, Fritz,
Chess Tiger etc. etc. Djinn actually lost to, drew and then
finally beat. ;-)

How the heck is a poor engine author going to track their
creation's progress?!!

cheers,
