I'm the only member of the "Old Farts Club" who has NEVER owned any dedicated
chess computer!!!
I have watched them with envy during the '80 (starting with the Chess Challenger
series and the incredible Sargon 2.5 after using Sargon II for a while on
TRS-80).
But I did not have the money at the time to buy any of them. :(
OK, to be honest I have one dedicated chess computer. It's a Tandy model with 2
levels of play, and it's extremely weak.
I don't know if it still works, I have left it in France 10 years ago when I
left to Guadeloupe.
