Given the limited size of RAM in these models, it is possible that the search
stack cannot grow above a fixed depth.

That means that giving the computer more time will, at some point, not yield any
improvement in strength.

The same applies for PC programs, but for example in Chess Tiger the search
stack is limited to 64 plies. You could not reach it in any reasonable time.

But on an old dedicated chess computer you might find stacks limited to 7 plies.
This limit can be reached after several hours of search.
