These parts were priced at Monarch Computer.

The MSI motherboard should be dependable, very little speed difference between
dual processor motherboards.
I priced the new Opteron 250, so this will give you Opteron 64 @ 4800 MHZ.
The case is very high quality. I prefer a sealed case with a filter on intake
fans but could not find on this site. I prefer more cfm intake than exhaust for
positive case pressure.
I priced 2 sticks of 512 for 1 gig ram--not sure how much your hash setting will
be for tournament. Maybe for you 2 Gig is better.
Seagate has been dependable for me. This hard drive is very good speed 7200 rpm,
160 GIG, 8 meg cache, low heat.
I priced the CD R/W DVD R/W combo, good price. I thought this drive was scary at
first because mechanically complex but mine is working very good.
sound card is dependable and cheap.
Video card is not fast, but very good for chess, low heat, good price and
dependable brand----also video card is same brand as motherboard. this is a plus
for me.
not sure if you need modem and/or network card. both included for travel.
Operating System is Windows XP Pro. This is SMP compatable. I have been using
with no issues. Advantage to having original Operating System CD instead of HP,
Dell etc. recovery CD.
Power supply is 465 watts---plenty.
Extra 3 year warranty.
The heat sink and fan is ok for this system. You should not overclock or tweak
hardware for your purpose. Stay quiet and dependable.
This system should be very dependable, low heat, low maintenance, very quiet,
and extremely fast.
Price can be reduced by going with slower Opteron.
So far everytime I have built a system, all cables have been with drives and
Motherboards.
Of course all wires, quick disconnects, and plugs are already installed on power
supply. The newer models have more than enough.
Stay away from SCSI and Raid. Not necessary for you. not good for first
system---keep it simple and dependable.
If you order parts, post here when your parts are in and several here will give
you assembly and operating system tips for dependability and program speed.

Uri---question---Is Movei SMP for this tournament? I assume you want dual for
comp-comp games later.

Good luck Uri
