With Rafael Andrists "Wilhelm" program you can analyze particular subsets, such as krp(f)p(h)kr, reasonably well. krppkr is also available on a DVD from Chessbase, but some of the positions are corrupted. As far as solving practical subsets of tablebases, it is a bit redundant now that 6-man endings are basically done. Peter Karrer and more recently Dieter Buerssner have been working on algorithms that allow tablebases analysis with particular pawn configurations. I'm not aware of any publically available programs, however. -Marc
