Nice history and I suppose many of us could tell something similar. Many many
years ago my best dedicted computer was a Constellaton 3.6, a very well done
machine, pretty, strong -for me- and in fact the toy that came to replace as my
darling the old, beloved Chess Challenger Champion. In one opportunity I
discovered and perfomed a mate 14 plies long and after I played it and all went
smooth and I won the game I run down the stairs from my little cozy studio to
the kitchen yelling to my wife "am a genius, am a genius!!!
It was an exhilarating moment and I never forgot it. I do not mind now to know
Constellaton 3.6 was not that strong -perhaps 1800 Elo or so- and that anway I
have lost many games with the very same machine: the feling of happynnes and
fulfillment were the same and I recall them with pleasure.
My best
fernando
