I have built the last two computers I have owned. The first was a dual CPU
machine (dual PIII 733 MHz), and the most recent was an Athlon 2400+ 2GHz.

The only hard part for me was the fear of screwing something up after I had
spent what little money I had on computer hardware. It is really pretty easy. I
had some experience opening up my computers and installing RAM and video cards
in the past, and had experience messing with the BIOS, so that might have helped
me. I also had my brother help me some, but if he hadn't been there I wouldn't
have messed anything up. He just gave me the confidence that I was doing it
right.

If you have never built a computer before, I would recommend getting someone to
help you. If you have a friend who can help you, great. If not, you could
probably go to any university and a student or professor would probably be more
than willing to help you if you buy them lunch, especially if you tell them you
are using it for the WCCC.
